UK-based specialty automotive company Theon Design has revealed its most high-performance air-cooled Porsche 911 yet, built on the classic Porsche 911 (964) platform. This exceptional machine blends classic design, modern technology, and premium custom engineering, creating a thrilling experience for car enthusiasts.

A Powerhouse on a Classic Base

Theon Design’s new model features a 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine producing 407bhp. According to the company, this is the most powerful naturally aspirated engine they have ever built. It comes paired with a 5 or 6-speed manual gearbox (Porsche 993 RS specification), offering drivers a fully immersive, classic sports car experience.

This engine and drivetrain setup not only deliver speed but also maintain a raw and pure sports car feel throughout every moment of driving.

Lightweight and Strong Body

A standout feature of this 911 is its Carbon-Kevlar bodywork, which makes the car lightweight, durable, and performance-focused. Weighing approximately 1,150 kilograms, it achieves a 46:54 front-to-rear weight distribution, providing a perfectly balanced riding experience.

The light weight and precise balance directly enhance handling, ensuring stability and accuracy through corners while maintaining high-speed performance.

Adjustable Suspension with TracTive Dampers

Hand-built in the UK’s Motorsport Valley, the car features an adjustable suspension with TracTive dampers, which can be set across five different configurations. Whether for long drives, track days, or city streets, the suspension can be tailored to any scenario.

For braking, it employs the Porsche 993 RS braking system, offering full control even at high speeds. 18-inch Fuchs-style wheels preserve the car’s vintage appeal while complementing modern performance.

Luxurious and Exclusive Interior

Step inside to find a perfect blend of luxury and sportiness. The interior features a carbon fiber dashboard, Phantom Black leather, and Ice Green stitching. Seating is provided by Recaro CS seats, ensuring comfort for long drives and firm support on the track.

Technologically, the car includes switchable engine mapping, front suspension lift, Wi-Fi phone charging, Alpine HDS-990 head unit, and 6 Focal speakers, delivering advanced control and an exceptional audio experience while driving.

Price and Delivery

The base price of this machine starts at £420,000, excluding donor car, taxes, and shipping. Being a fully custom commission, the price can go up to £480,000, roughly $590,000, depending on customization level and international shipping.

Production takes approximately 18 months, meaning buyers must wait about one and a half years after placing an order—but every moment of the wait is worth it.

Global Debut and Market Status

The car made its global debut on October 5, 2025, at the Bicester Scramble event in the UK. This exclusive UK-built model has already generated demand in the USA, Italy, and several European countries. The first ITA001 model has already been delivered to a customer in Italy.

As for Asian markets, special launch dates in India and China are yet to be confirmed. However, discussions among premium enthusiasts are already underway.

A Prime Example of the Restomod Trend

Theon Design’s Porsche 911 is a stellar representation of the Restomod trend. Restomod involves modernizing a classic car with contemporary technology and performance upgrades while retaining its original design.

In this case, the car presents the classic air-cooled Porsche 911 design magic with modern engineering, lightweight materials, and a high-performance driving experience.

Driving Experience and Performance

This model is built for driving, not just display. Switchable engine mapping allows drivers to change performance modes, while the front suspension lift ensures that the sports car can handle everyday roads with ease.

The audio system and interior comfort make it suitable for long journeys, while on the track, it reveals its true power.

A Collector’s Gem

Limited production, high price, and commission-based construction make this car a treasure for collectors and enthusiastic drivers. It is not just a vehicle but a work of engineering and design art, offering a unique automotive experience.
