The humanoid robot A2, developed by the Chinese company Agibot, has achieved a remarkable global record by completing an uninterrupted walking distance of 106.286 kilometres between 10 and 13 November 2025. This achievement has now officially entered the Guinness World Records and highlights the rapid progress and maturity of China’s robotics industry. The robot covered the entire distance without a single shutdown, marking a significant breakthrough in modern robotic engineering.

Story from start to finish

A2 began its historic journey on 10 November from Jinji Lake located in Suzhou, China, and successfully completed the mission on the morning of 13 November at Shanghai’s Bund district. During this long walk, A2 navigated city roads, national and provincial highways, parks, bridges, and complex paths, while strictly following traffic rules. Officials from Guinness World Records were present throughout the walk and officially recognised the achievement on 21 November 2025.

This journey demonstrates not only endurance, but also how the robot handled challenging conditions such as low lighting, uneven surfaces, and crowded routes with stability and precision. Throughout the walk, A2 never shut down thanks to its hot-swapping battery system, allowing the battery to be changed while the robot continued functioning.

Technical specifications and extraordinary abilities

Agibot A2 stands approximately 175 cm tall and weighs 55 kilograms. It is equipped with a 700-watt-hour battery, capable of powering the device for nearly two hours. However, due to the hot-swap system, it continued operating uninterrupted throughout the journey. The robot can walk at a maximum speed of 3.3 metres per second and is capable of lifting up to 15 kilograms.

A2 is equipped with dual GPS, infrared cameras, LiDAR sensors, and advanced algorithms that enable it to navigate, balance, and operate in complex environments. Along with walking, the robot can also recognise voices, capture images and even perform extremely precise tasks such as threading a needle.

Its advanced model, A2 Max, is also available in the market and is designed for heavier and more demanding industrial operations.

In 2025 alone, Agibot has sold more than 1,000 units of the A2 model. These robots are being increasingly adopted in manufacturing units, hospitals, home deliveries, service industries, and various urban operations.
