OnePlus 15R Makes a Power-Packed Entry: Sets New Benchmarks in Gaming, Battery and Durability

The wait for tech enthusiasts worldwide is finally over. OnePlus has officially launched its new flagship-level smartphone, OnePlus 15R, globally. Released simultaneously on 17 December 2025 in India, the US, and Europe, the phone has created strong buzz in the market right from day one. Notably, the device had already launched in China on 3 December under the name “OnePlus Ace 6T”, where it has been witnessing strong sales.
OnePlus 15R: A Powerhouse for Gamers
The biggest highlight of the OnePlus 15R is its massive 7400mAh battery, built using silicon-carbon technology. This advanced battery tech offers nearly 15–20% higher energy density compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries.
According to the company, the smartphone is capable of delivering up to two days of battery backup. Even when the battery runs low, 80W SuperVOOC fast charging ensures quick recovery, charging the phone from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes.
OnePlus 15R Powerful Chipset
The OnePlus 15R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This is the same chipset that has set new records in 2025 for being one of the fastest and most efficient mobile processors.
The company describes it as a “performance beast,” and rightly so. The device comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. As a result, whether it’s high-end gaming or heavy multitasking, the 15R handles every performance test with ease.
Stunning Display and Refresh Rate
OnePlus has made no compromises in the display department. The smartphone features a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED LTPO display with a 165Hz refresh rate, making interactions extremely smooth and responsive.
The display offers up to 1800 nits of peak brightness, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. It is protected by Crystal Shield Glass, providing enhanced durability.
Whether gaming or streaming 4K content, the screen experience of the OnePlus 15R feels truly premium and on par with top flagship devices.
Camera Setup with Sony IMX906
The OnePlus 15R delivers a well-balanced camera experience. It is equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, offering excellent HDR performance and impressive low-light photography.
Alongside it is an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while selfies are handled by a 16MP front camera. For social media creators and vloggers, this device offers near-professional-grade results. It supports 4K video recording, and the OxygenOS 16 (based on Android 16) interface further enhances the smooth user experience.
Quad Dust and Water Resistance Ratings
The OnePlus 15R is not limited to performance and design alone; its durability stands out as well.
The device comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K quad dust and water resistance ratings.
This means the phone is not only dust-tight but can also withstand high-pressure hot water jets, making it suitable even for the toughest industrial environments. Hot water, heavy dust, or accidental drops — the OnePlus 15R is built to handle it all.
Color Variants and Design
Globally, the phone has been launched in two color options — Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze.
For India, OnePlus has introduced an exclusive “Electric Violet Ace Edition”, aimed at attracting younger users.
The device features a glass-finish back with a reflective texture. Its metal frame and slim bezels give it a distinctly premium look and feel.
Global Launch and Availability
The global launch event of the OnePlus 15R was held on 17 December 2025, simultaneously across India, the US, and Europe.
However, in China, the phone had already gone on sale earlier on 3 December as the OnePlus Ace 6T.
In India, sales begin today via Amazon and the official OnePlus website, with pre-orders already live.
In other markets such as Australia and Singapore, sales will commence from January 2026.
