Samsung Galaxy Book 6 Pro price hike: Samsung has increased the prices of its latest Galaxy Book 6 Pro laptops by around $477, which are powered by Intel’s Panther Lake processors. This information has emerged from Samsung’s official Korean launch page, where the company has also compared them with the previous generation models. This price hike is happening due to rising memory chip costs and AI demand, which is affecting the entire industry.
Price comparison and official figures
According to Samsung’s Korean website, the Galaxy Book 6 Pro (model NT960XJG-KD72G) is priced at 3,510,000 Korean won, which is around $2,381. This is about 25% higher than the previous Galaxy Book 5 Pro (NT960XHA-KD72G, Intel Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7 Series 2), which was priced at 2,808,000 won, or around $1,904. Samsung itself has shown this comparison in its official chart, where RAM (32GB LPDDR5X) and storage (1TB NVMe SSD) remain the same. According to a Korea JoongAng Daily report, the 14-inch Pro model starts at 3.41 million won, while Ultra variants with NVIDIA RTX 5060/5070 GPUs go up to 4.63 to 4.93 million won.

Key specifications and new changes
Panther Lake (Core Ultra Series 3) comes with 16 cores, double the 8 cores of Lunar Lake, along with Xe3 Arc graphics and a 50 TOPS NPU for AI features. As stated on samsung.com/kr, Samsung has added vapor chamber cooling, anti-reflective AMOLED displays (14/16-inch), quad Dolby Atmos speakers, and a 78Wh battery. The Galaxy Book 6 series includes a total of six models—two Ultra variants with RTX 50 series GPUs, and the rest Pro models with integrated graphics. These laptops were unveiled at CES 2026 and come with Windows 11 Home, as confirmed on Samsung’s global sites.
International launch and availability
Officially, the Galaxy Book 6 series will go on sale in South Korea on January 27, 2026, and after that it may arrive in global markets in grey and silver colors. On Samsung India’s sites, preparations for pre-booking are underway, where listings on platforms like Smartprix show the 16GB/512GB Ultra 7 variant priced at ₹1,79,990. In the US, a reservation page is active on samsung.com/us, but final prices will be confirmed by the end of January. The Enterprise Edition is expected to launch in April.
Meanwhile, Korea JoongAng Daily has cited a statement by Samsung CEO Roh Tae-moon given during CES 2026, in which he had already warned about rising memory costs.
Industry impact and updates
Today’s Korea JoongAng Daily report says that DRAM costs have jumped by 590%, and 8Gb DDR4 has now reached around $9.30. The impact of these higher costs is clearly visible in the market. LG’s Gram Pro models have seen a price increase of around 500,000 won, while Dell, ASUS, and Lenovo are also preparing to raise laptop prices.
The report also states that Samsung, which itself manufactures DRAM and NAND memory, kept prices stable between the Galaxy Book 4 and Book 5 generations, but is now starting to pass the burden of higher costs on to consumers. At the same time, IDC estimates that smartphone shipments could decline by 2.9 to 5.2 percent in 2026, which could also impact upcoming flagship models like the Galaxy S26.
