The aadhaar card update deadline has been extended

The deadline for the free update facility of the Aadhaar card has now been extended to September 14, 2024. Earlier this deadline was June 14, 2024. If your Aadhaar card is 10 years old, you can update it for free till September 14. The free update facility will be available only through the online My Aadhaar portal. A fee of Rs 50 will have to be paid for updates by visiting the Aadhaar centre.

  1. Visit the official website of UIDAI: myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
  2. Click on the ‘Update Aadhaar’ option.
  3. Enter your 10-digit Aadhaar number and OTP.
  4. Click on Document Update and upload the required documents.
  5. Click on the ‘Submit’ button and get the request number.

Messages and OTP may be delayed

From September 1, 2024, TRAI has directed telecom companies to identify and block unregistered messages and calls to prevent fake calls and messages. Due to this, some mobile users may face delays in receiving banking calls, messages and OTPs. TRAI has instructed to block messages containing URLs, OTT links, APKs and call-back numbers. This change may cause problems with online banking, payments, and shopping.

NPCI has announced that from September 1, 2024, RuPay credit card and UPI transaction fees will no longer be deducted from RuPay reward points. This new rule has been informed to the banks for implementation, which will provide better convenience to RuPay card and UPI users.
