Currently, the service of updating Aadhaar card is being provided by UIDAI for free, but this facility is available only till September 14. After this, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged for updating the Aadhaar card.

Easy way to update Aadhaar card

  1. Visit UIDAI website: First of all go to the official website of UIDAI uidai.gov.in.
  2. Select language: Choose the language as per your convenience from the languages ​​available on the website.
  3. Select the update option: Select the information you want to update, such as address, name, or date of birth.
  4. Login: Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ and log in. For this, an Aadhaar number and captcha code will have to be filled.
  5. OTP verification: OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Verify it and log in.
  6. Upload document: Go to document update and verify the required documents like name, date of birth or address. Upload the document in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format in less than 2 MB size.
  7. Submit: After uploading all the details and documents, click on the submit button. A 14-digit update request number will be sent to your registered mobile number so that you can track your update request.
  8. Download: After the Aadhaar card is updated, you will be sent a mail or message by UIDAI. You can download it from the UIDAI website.

Charge for offline update

If you want to update your Aadhaar offline, then you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar centre and pay a fee of Rs 50.

What will happen after September 14?

Your Aadhaar card will not become useless even after September 14. UIDAI has clarified that the old Aadhaar card can be used as before. However, the facility of free Aadhaar update is only till September 14. After this, a fee will be charged for the Aadhaar update.

So, if your Aadhaar card is old or has any mistakes in it, it would be better to update it before September 14.
