Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives, Nukaga Fukushiro, and his delegation on August 1. The meeting discussed strengthening the strategic and global partnership between the two countries and increasing cooperation in semiconductors, electric vehicles, and green energy in addition to traditional manufacturing. Along with this, training in the Japanese language and skill development for Indian youth were also discussed.

India-Japan trade and economic relations: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the progress of the 5 trillion Japanese Yen investment target set for the period 2022-27 and discussed further strengthening trade and economic relations after 2027. He appreciated the success of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project. Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro made proposals for training in Japanese language, culture, and work methods and emphasized the role of the private sector.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he was pleased to meet the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro, and his delegation. He expressed commitment to promote parliamentary exchanges, investment, skill development, and mobility between India and Japan and appreciated the reforms undertaken in India and the favourable business environment.
