Airtel and SpaceX have joined hands to bring Starlink internet service to India
India’s leading telecom company Airtel has announced a key partnership with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, under which Starlink’s high-speed internet services will be made available in India. This agreement is SpaceX’s first agreement in India and under this Airtel will provide Starlink’s internet connectivity solutions to its customers. After this agreement, SpaceX will get the necessary permissions to sell Starlink internet service in India.
The main objective of this agreement between Airtel and SpaceX is to improve access to internet service in remote and rural areas of India that traditional broadband services do not reach. This initiative is especially important for those areas which are still cut off from the network or where there is lack of internet connectivity. Starlink’s satellite-based internet services can prove to help deliver broadband internet to these areas.
