The Government of India has approved the development of new civil enclave at Bagdogra Airport.

Bagdogra Airport: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for the construction of new civil enclave at Bagdogra Airport, Siliguri, West Bengal. The estimated cost of the project presented by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is Rs 1549 crore.

The new terminal building will be under construction in an area of ​​70,390 sqm and is designed to accommodate 3000 passengers per day (PHP) during peak traffic periods. Additionally, the terminal will have an annual capacity to handle 10 million passengers. The main components of the project include the construction of an apron with 10 parking bays, two link taxiways and multi-level car parking.

Emphasis has also been given to the environmental aspects of the project. The new terminal will be a green building, using renewable energy sources and maximising natural lighting to minimise ecological impact.

This development will significantly enhance the operational efficiency and passenger experience of Bagdogra Airport and strengthen its role as the air travel hub of the region. The project is an important step towards upgrading air travel infrastructure locally and nationally.
