Violence against the Hindu community in various districts of Bangladesh
Bangladesh News: Worrying reports of violence against the Hindu community are coming from several districts of Bangladesh. Areas like Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Bogura, Sirajganj, Sherpur, Kishoreganj, West Jashore, Magura, Narail, Southwest Khulna, Patuakhali, Satkhira, Central Narsingdi, Tangail, North West Lakkhipur, Feni, Chittagong and Habiganj have witnessed violent incidents recently. Hindu temples, homes and business establishments have been attacked in these places, and people of the community have suffered serious losses. This situation is extremely worrying and has created an atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the local Hindu community.

Violent incidents: Violence and chaos have spread in the country since the assassination of the leader of Sheikh Hasina’s party, the Awami League. Many Hindu temples, houses and business establishments have been vandalised during the violence. Apart from this, Hindu women have also been attacked.
The murder of Hindu leaders: Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council leader Kajol Debnath revealed that two Hindu leaders associated with Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League party have been killed in northwestern Sirajganj and Rangpur.
Attacks and looting: According to reports, the attackers looted shops, temples and houses and attacked Hindu women. These incidents have taken place in several districts of Bangladesh, including Panchagarh, Dinajpur, Rangpur, Bogura, Sirajganj, Sherpur, Kishoreganj, West Jashore, Magura, Narail, Southwest Khulna, Patuakhali, Satkhira, Central Narsingdi, Tangail, North West Lakkhipur, Feni, Chittagong and Habiganj.
Security situation: Council General Secretary Rana Dasgupta has described the situation as serious and appealed to the army to ensure the safety of minorities and punish the attackers. He said that Hindus are being continuously attacked across the country.
Incidents of violence and attacks on religious minorities, especially Hindus, have increased in Bangladesh since the resignation of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Incidents of attack, looting and murder in various districts have made the situation serious.
