This news is particularly exciting for tech enthusiasts and fans of foldable smartphones. Huawei has officially unveiled its new foldable smartphone series with the Huawei Nova Flip S, which launched in China in October 2025. This model is an upgraded version of the “Nova Flip” smartphone released in August 2024, but this time Huawei has made it more attractive, powerful, and affordable. In terms of price, specifications, and design, the Huawei Nova Flip S promises a completely new experience.

Huawei Nova Flip S: Affordable Premium Foldable Phone

The Huawei Nova Flip S has currently launched in China and is being touted as the country’s most affordable foldable phone. The company has priced the 256GB variant at CNY 3,388 (approximately ₹41,900) and the 512GB variant at CNY 3,688 (approximately ₹45,600). These prices place the phone firmly in the mid-premium segment, where foldable devices have traditionally been significantly more expensive.

Huawei’s move could be a game-changer for users who want to experience foldable technology without stretching their budgets. Offering such design and hardware at a lower price is emerging as a major attraction in China’s tech market.

Stunning Design and Modern Color Options

The Huawei Nova Flip S boasts a premium and sleek design. When unfolded, the phone is just 6.88mm thick and weighs around 195 grams, making it lightweight and comfortable to handle. It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that ensures quick unlocking while maintaining security.

For color options, Huawei has surprised consumers with six new shades – New Green, Zero White, Sakura Pink, Star Black, Sky Blue, and Feather Sand Black. The combination of metallic finish and glass back design in these colors makes the flip phone extremely fashionable.

The hinge mechanism of the Nova Flip S has also been reinforced for greater durability. The company claims that the hinge can withstand thousands of folds and unfolds without compromising its strength.

Dual Displays for a Vibrant Visual Experience

The Huawei Nova Flip S comes with a large 6.94-inch Full-HD+ LTPO OLED main foldable display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and P3 wide color gamut support. This ensures a colorful, smooth, and vivid visual experience, making scrolling, gaming, and video viewing feel highly premium.

Additionally, the phone features a 2.14-inch OLED cover display with a resolution of 480×480 pixels, also supporting a 120Hz refresh rate. The cover screen is highly practical for notifications, calls, camera previews, music control, and quick replies. Huawei has made this display customizable with interactive widgets and animated clocks, combining aesthetics with convenience.

Camera: A New Upgrade for Photography

The Huawei Nova Flip S features a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP primary camera equipped with an RYYB sensor. This sensor, using Huawei’s proprietary technology, delivers superior photo quality and detail even in low light. The secondary camera supports wide and macro modes, offering excellent performance. The camera also supports 4K video recording, making it ideal for content creators.

For selfies, the phone has a 32MP front camera. With AI-based face smoothing and natural tone adjustment, it provides an excellent selfie experience even in a foldable form factor. In Flip mode, when the phone is half-folded, the front camera’s angle can be adjusted for hands-free shooting.

Battery, Charging, and Performance

The Huawei Nova Flip S is powered by a 4,400mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Huawei claims the phone can charge up to 70% in just 15–20 minutes, which is highly impressive for a foldable device.

The phone is powered by the Kirin 8000 chipset, although some reports suggest it may also use Huawei’s new Kirin 8030. The chipset is designed for energy-efficient yet powerful performance, ensuring smooth multitasking, fold animations, and graphics-intensive apps.

On the software front, the device runs HarmonyOS 5.1, Huawei’s own operating system, now more stable, multilingual, and user-friendly. It includes features like multi-device linking, smart connectivity, and enhanced privacy protection.

Launch in China, Global Release Pending

Currently, the Huawei Nova Flip S is available only in China, with pre-orders already open. Given its price tier, the device is expected to bring strong competition in China’s foldable market.

Huawei has not officially announced a launch date for international markets. However, reports suggest the phone may eventually launch in India and other global markets.

In major markets such as the USA, Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea, Huawei has not confirmed the release of the Nova Flip S. The company’s current strategy appears to focus on its domestic market, where Huawei is making a strong competitive comeback.

No Compromise on Innovation and Design

The launch of the Huawei Nova Flip S demonstrates that the company is unwilling to compromise on innovation and design. The phone shows that foldable technology is no longer just a luxury but is becoming accessible to mainstream users. Efficient manufacturing, optimized software, and an attractive price tag make Huawei’s new offering stand out.

For Huawei, the Nova Flip S is not just a new model but a confident return—especially in a market where brands like Samsung and Oppo have already established leadership in the foldable segment.
