Instagram introduces new feature to add songs to profile
Instagram Profile: Instagram recently launched a new feature that allows users to add a 30-second song to their profile bio. Earlier, this feature was only available in posts and reels, but now songs are being offered on profiles as well.
How to add a song on profile of Instagram profile?
- Go to the profile edit page: Go to your Instagram profile and click on ‘Edit Profile’.
- Select song from musicthe library: Search and select a song from Instagram’s licensed music library. These will be the same tracks that you use in reels and posts.
- Select a 30-second segment: Select a 30-second segment of the selected song that will be displayed on your profile.
- Add song to the ‘Test’ category: A new ‘Test’ category will be added to the bio, where your selected song will be displayed.
Note that the song will not autoplay. Profile visitors will have to click on the song to hear it, making it act like a high-grade celebratory card.
Special launches and exclusive content
Instagram has collaborated with singer Sabrina Carpenter to promote this new feature. To mark Carpenter’s album launch, a sneak peek of an unreleased track will be featured on her Instagram profile. This will give fans a chance to get their first listen to the new music, a special occasion before the full release.
Colour changes in notes
Apart from this new feature, Instagram has also added new colour options to notes. Now, sending notes with words like “Demure”, “Cutesy”, “Considerate”, and “Mindful” will trigger different colour shifts. For example, the word “Cutesy” will trigger a pink hue, which can appear off-white or vibrant pink depending on the quality of the screen.
With this new update, Instagram users are getting a new and unique way to personalize their profiles, and music lovers are getting a chance to share their favourite features in more creative ways.
