A total of 62 people were killed in a tragic plane crash in Brazil on Friday. The deceased included 57 passengers and 4 crew members. The accident happened with Vopas Flight 2283, an ATR 72 twin-engine turboprop aircraft. The plane was flying from Cascavel to Guarulhos.
According to local time, the plane took off from Cascavel at 11:56 am and was in the air for about an hour and a half. Suddenly, the plane went into a shocking fall and was filled with fire and smoke as it hit the ground.
The crew of the plane did not make any call for help and also did not give any information about the weather conditions, officials said.
Two passengers, Adriano Assis and Jose Felipe, survived the accident due to their luck. Asis was late to board the plane due to a misunderstanding after arriving late at the airport, while Felipe and his group mistakenly thought their flight was on LATAM Airlines. Both of them escaped death as they missed boarding the plane at the last minute.
The plane crash is being investigated and data from the black boxes will be analyzed.
