San Francisco-SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Thursday that the affordable internet service Starlink is now available on more than a thousand planes. According to the company, Starlink provides high-speed internet connection to passengers as soon as they board the plane. Elon Musk posted on his X account, saying, “Using Starlink on the plane feels like you are using a high-speed ground fiber connection.”
Elon Musk informed about connecting Sierra Leone to Starlink, still waiting for approval in India
Elon Musk recently announced and said Sierra Leone became the 100th country in Africa and the 10th African country to be connected to Starlink. The company also launched Starlink in Indonesia and Fiji in May. According to Elon Musk, no long-term contract is required to get high-speed internet service with Starlink. Initial approval has been received from Sri Lanka to provide satellite-based internet service in the island nations, however, approval for Starlink internet service has not been received from the Indian government yet.

Starlink completes commercial and technical scrutiny for approval in India
As of now, Starlink has not received approval from the Indian government. However, their commercial aspect has been thoroughly examined, including issues such as foreign investment and net worth. Also, the technical requirements have been examined as per the licensing rules of the country. As soon as Starlink gets the approval, they will be issued a GMPCS Services License to provide satelite communication services in India. Without this license, they cannot provide satellite services in India.
