New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held an important review meeting in New Delhi on Monday, which was attended by the heads of public sector banks (PSBs) and senior officials of the Finance Ministry. In this meeting chaired by the Union Minister, various parameters of the performance of the banks were discussed in depth.
A statement issued by the Finance Ministry said that the meeting was attended by the Managing Directors (MDs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of public sector banks. Apart from this, Dr. Vivek Joshi, Secretary of, the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and new Secretary M. Nagaraju were also present in the meeting, along with other senior officials of the department.
The main objective of the meeting was to analyze the scope and performance of the banks so that their efficiency and financial condition can be improved. Through this review, the current situation of the banks was considered and strategies were prepared for the necessary improvements.
