Volvo India has officially announced that the facelifted version of its popular luxury SUV, the Volvo XC60 facelift, will be launched in the Indian market on 1st August 2025. Recently unveiled in international markets as the 2026 model, the updated XC60 is set to arrive in India with several key upgrades and new features, making the luxury SUV segment even more competitive and exciting.

Modern Design Enhancements in the New Volvo XC60 Facelift

The new Volvo XC60 facelift incorporates the brand’s latest design language with finesse. The front grille has been redesigned and now prominently features the updated Iron Mark logo. Both the front and rear bumpers appear more athletic and robust than before. The new lighting pattern in the taillamps, especially noticeable at night, adds to its appeal. Additionally, the newly styled alloy wheels offer a more modern and sharp appearance, giving the SUV an enhanced premium road presence.

The cabin of the XC60 facelift has been significantly modernised. The highlight is the all-new 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. According to the company, this new system delivers improved graphics, faster response times, and higher pixel density compared to the previous version.

Premium materials and new trim inserts throughout the cabin further elevate the luxury experience. Key features such as a digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, 360-degree camera, ADAS technology, and heated and ventilated massage seats have been retained, ensuring a top-tier in-cabin experience.

Comfortable Driving Promised in the New XC60

There is speculation that the Indian version of the facelifted XC60 may also come with air suspension, just like the global variant. While Volvo has not yet officially confirmed this, if included, this feature is expected to significantly enhance ride comfort and driving dynamics. In addition, improved insulation and a more refined driving environment remain key aspects of Volvo’s luxury offering.

Powerful Engine and Performance

The facelifted XC60 continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This engine delivers an impressive 247 bhp of maximum power and 360 Nm of peak torque. An 8-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive setup are expected to come as standard, ensuring smooth performance and confident handling across various terrains.

Safety and Key Highlights

Volvo has always been renowned for its industry-leading safety technology, and the new XC60 maintains this legacy. It comes equipped with the brand’s signature safety suite, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), City Safety, Lane Keeping Aid, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Automatic Emergency Braking. The SUV’s strong build quality and 5-star Euro NCAP crash test rating further reinforce its reputation as a safe and reliable choice in the luxury SUV space.

Competing Rivals in the Segment

In the Indian market, the new XC60 will compete directly with other premium SUVs like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC. Volvo’s unique design philosophy, world-class safety technologies, and commitment to continuous innovation make the XC60 a strong contender in its segment. As for pricing, the new XC60 is expected to be priced between ₹70 lakh and ₹75 lakh (ex-showroom).

Market Preparedness Ahead of Launch

The XC60 has consistently been one of Volvo’s best-selling SUVs globally and has seen strong demand in India, particularly among family buyers and luxury SUV enthusiasts. With local assembly and a growing service network, Volvo has strengthened its presence in the Indian market over the past few years. Industry experts believe that with its updated features, comfortable cabin, and stylish design, the XC60 facelift could once again become the top choice for buyers seeking a luxurious yet dependable SUV.
