Alert of strong winds and heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh from 15 to 18 August
UP weather update: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning of strong winds and heavy rains from 15 to 18 August for various parts of Uttar Pradesh. It has been raining continuously for the last 5 days since the monsoon became active, causing flood-like situation in many districts. The water level in the Ghaghra and Rapti rivers has increased especially in Gonda, Balrampur and Bahraich districts.
The IMD has predicted strong possibility of heavy rains in Gonda, Bahraich, Balrampur and other districts of eastern UP till August 15. Apart from this, heavy rain alert has been issued in 20 districts of UP, including Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Barabanki, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur.
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in these districts for two consecutive days on August 14 and 15.
On Monday, the maximum temperature in Uttar Pradesh was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature at 22.4 degrees Celsius.
