Xiaomi is preparing to introduce its next flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, aiming to set a new benchmark in the premium segment. Even before its official debut, the device has generated significant buzz in the market. Recent leaks from China’s 3C certification listings and reports by well-known tipsters Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu have revealed several key specifications. What stands out is that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is shaping up to be a true “battery powerhouse,” expected to outperform previous Ultra models in both endurance and overall performance.

Massive Battery with an Ultra-Powerful Design

According to the leaks, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature the largest battery Xiaomi has ever used in its smartphones. Reports suggest a battery capacity ranging between 6,800mAh and 7,500mAh, a substantial jump from the 6,000mAh battery seen in last year’s Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Sources indicate that this battery will be based on Silicon-Carbon technology, an advanced structure known for storing more energy in less space while delivering longer battery life. Additionally, the phone may use an L-shaped battery design, which helps optimize internal space and improves thermal management.

Tech leaker Panda Is Very Bald has shared an image of a battery module reportedly rated at 6,800mAh, believed to be used for prototype testing of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.

With this new battery setup, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor is expected to deliver noticeable improvements in both performance and power efficiency. This combination will be particularly beneficial for gamers and content creators who require sustained performance for extended gaming sessions or long video shoots.

100W Super-Fast Charging for Quick Power-Ups

Xiaomi has consistently pushed fast-charging technology in its flagship lineup, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues that trend. China’s 3C certification listings reveal model numbers 2512BPNDAC and 25128PNA1C, both supporting 100W fast charging.

This is a step up from the 90W charging offered on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Despite the significantly larger battery, reports suggest that Xiaomi has managed to keep charging times short, allowing the device to reach full charge in just minutes.

The phone is also expected to support 50W wireless charging, a feature commonly seen in top-tier flagship smartphones. Both the standard and dual-satellite communication variants are listed with the 100W MDY-18-EW charger, confirming Xiaomi’s focus on maintaining leadership in fast-charging technology.

Premium Color Options and New Fiberglass Design

Design leaks have revealed more details about the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s appearance. The device is expected to launch in three premium color options — Black, White, and Purple.

According to Digital Chat Station, the phone will feature a fiberglass back panel, offering a lightweight yet durable build with a refined, premium finish. The Black variant is reportedly designed with a “professional camera” aesthetic, featuring a cohesive color tone between the camera module and the frame.

The Purple variant is likely aimed at premium users seeking a distinctive look, while the Black and White options cater to classic and business-focused users. Spy shots suggest that all three colors follow a coordinated design language inspired by professional camera bodies. These same color options are expected to be available in the global version as well.

Dual Satellite Connectivity and Leica Camera System

In the photography department, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is once again set to challenge the best in the flagship segment. Reports indicate it will feature a 1-inch 50MP OV50X main sensor paired with Leica optics. In addition, the phone may include a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, delivering exceptional detail and clarity in zoom photography.

For the first time in Xiaomi’s Ultra lineup, the device is also expected to incorporate LOFIC technology, designed to improve color accuracy and reduce noise in low-light conditions.

On the connectivity front, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is rumored to support dual satellite communication (Tiantong-1 and Beidou). This feature could enable calling and messaging even in areas without traditional network coverage, potentially setting a new trend for future high-end smartphones.

Display, Performance, and Other Specifications

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.85-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Additional features may include UWB (Ultra-Wideband) support and an IP68 water-resistance rating.

Powering the device will be the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, offering AI-enhanced performance, optimized graphics, and improved power efficiency.

According to leaks, the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage could be priced at around 6,000 RMB (approximately ₹72,000) at launch.

Global Launch Timeline

The latest updates suggest that Xiaomi may launch the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China on December 26, 2025, with pre-orders expected to run from December 15 to December 25.

As for India and other global markets, the device is likely to debut around March 2026. Xiaomi fans worldwide are eagerly awaiting the launch, as the Ultra series consistently attracts strong attention in the global flagship smartphone market.
