Weather Update: Uttar Pradesh to Face Intense Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Coming Days
Weather Update: Monsoon has become active in Uttar Pradesh and heavy rain is expected in many areas during the next three days. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rain for Sunday in southern parts like Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, and Chandauli as well as Terai areas Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Bahraich, and many areas of western UP. Apart from this, a warning of thunderstorms with lightning has also been issued in three-fourths of the state.
Uttar Pradesh: Monsoon activities have intensified in various parts of Uttar Pradesh for the last few days. On saturday, 170 mm of rain was recorded in Barabanki, 100 mm in Chitrakoot, 45.5 mm in Fursatganj, 38.8 mm in Ayodhya, 31.4 mm in Sultanpur, and 17.2 mm in Varanasi.
Despite the monsoon activity in Gorakhpur, the amount of rain remained low. However, in other areas, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains till August 13.
The monsoon has also picked up pace in Kanpur, and the rain will likely continue during the next 48 hours.
Heavy rain warning:
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, SK Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Firozabad, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Sambhal and adjoining areas.
The weather is likely to remain the same in the next four days, which will relieve the people from the humid heat.
